Several postdoctoral fellowship positions to study and characterise
the invariant surface-membrane receptors of Trypanosoma brucei, are
available for non-Belgian citizens at either the Research Unit for
Tropical Diseases (Fred Opperdoes), or the CELL Unit (Pierre Courtoy)
of the ICP. This project is being carried out as a collaboration
between these two ICP laboratories (TROP and CELL) and the
laboratories of Molecular Parasitology (Etienne Pays) and Cellular
Immunology (Patrick De Baetselier) of the Free University of Brussels.
The successful candidate is expected to closely interact within this
local network and the work place may vary according to the nature of
the experiments and the expertise of the candidate.
These research positions are open to post-doctoral scientists trained
in one of the following areas : molecular biology, biochemistry, or
cell biology and they should have an interest in parasitology.
Candidates who are citizen of an EU member state should not be older
than 33 years of age, in which case the position will be available for
a period of two-years. Citizens of a non-EU member state should not be
older than 29 years of age, in which case the position will be
available for 18-months.
