Antiparasitic Chemotherapy,

Location:
The conference will be held at the University of Louvain on May 14, 15
and
16, 1997 in the 'Lemaire 'auditorium of the Faculty Club "Groot
Begijnhof"

Scientific Programme:
The purpose of the congress is to review the current state of the "COST
action 815 on antiparasitic chemotherapy". The scientific programme will
be
based on presentations by invited speakers, members of the COST-815
programme and other scientists. Most presentations will be given orally,
however, there will also be space available for poster presentations.
The 1997 congress will deal with the following topics:
- Drug resistance mechanisms
- Novel targets for antiparasitic drugs
- Rational development of drugs
- Plants as sources for new drugs
- Methods for in vitro screening of new drugs
Registration fee:
Registration will take place in the afternoon and early evening of
Wednesday, May 14th, and will be followed by a welcome reception. Two
full
days of scientific presentations are being planned for Thursday and
Friday,
15 and 16 May. A conference dinner is being planned for Thursday
evening.
Registration fee: 3000 BEF
Cost members will be charged: 2000 BEF

Hotels:
Hotel facilities will be available next to the meeting facilities at the
"Begijnhof Congresshotel" (4000 BEF per night) which has its own private
parking, or at the Leuven city centre in the Holiday Inn (3000 BEF) with
underground parking or in the Ibis hotel .
Social Programme:
The meeting will take place just before the week-end of Pentecost or
Whitsunday and thus will be an excellent opportunity to combine work
with
pleasure and extend your visit to Belgium with a small holiday. For
those
that would like to stay a bit longer the possibility of organising a
sight-seeing tour to the medieval cities of Brugge and Gent will be
studied.
