        A post-doctoral research position is currently available in the
laboratories of Drs. Kaattari and Faisal at the Virginia Institute of
Marine Science, College of William and Mary.  The successful candidate
will conduct research on the oyster parasite, Perkinsus marinus, and its
interaction with host, Crassostrea virginica.  The candidate will be
involved in the development of monoclonal antibodies to antigens of P.
marinus and the use of these reagents in the development of
immunotherapeutics for cultured oysters.  Dr. Kaattari and Faisal's
laboratories are housed in over 3000 sq. ft. of the new Chesapeake Bay
Hall research facility and possesses new and completely outfitted tissue
culture, immunochemistry and molecular laboratories.  The candidate
should have background in hybridoma production and infectious diseases
and hold a Ph.D or equivalent in microbiology, immunology, biochemistry
or a related field.  Salary will be commensurate with experience. The
appointment can begin immediately.  Candidates should submit a letter of
