company, has an opening for the following two research positions in
applied phycology:
Position: Research scientist
Location: Calipatria, California (hot, over 100 F for 6 months of
the year)
Qualifications: MS/Ph. D. or equivalent in any of the following
fields: algal physiology/
biochemistry/ molecular
biology/biotechnology; research experience in algae and
familiarity with diverse biochemical and
molecular techniques desirable.
Type of Work: Assist in on-going, planned and new research in the
optimization of outdoor algal
production and product quality; research on
selection, screening and taxonomic
characterization of algae; research on
physiological adaptation in outdoor cultures;
research related to modifying nutritional
profiles of Spirulina and other algae;
work on bioactive properties of algae and
their extracts.
Salary: negotiable; good benefits
