I'm a botanist doing a post-doc in a cell biology/molecular biology lab
which focused on adhesion proteins (selectins and their ligands). We
have developed contamination in several mammalian cell lines (including
CHO K1's) which appears to be Poterioochromonas or a closely related
species. Could anyone help me with the identification, and does anyone
have knowledge of an antiprotozoal agent which might be effective in
"curing" our cell lines? I'm about to loose four months of work if we
are forced to discard all of our clones. Any help would be appreciated.
