POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER AND RESEARCH ASSISTANT IN PLANKTONIC PROTOZOAN
TAXONOMY AND IDENTIFICATION
Initial salary within the range 16,286 - 20,811 GBP pa (Postdoctoral
Researcher) or 16,286 - 17,238 GBP pa (Research Assistant)
Working with Dr D Montagnes, this study will assemble data on the
identification of marine planktonic ciliates in UK waters. It will develop
data-sheets on taxa, a web site, and a computer database. This work is a
component of the NERC thematic programme Marine Productivity. Appointment
to both posts are subject to obtaining an Isle of Man work permit.
Postdoctoral Researcher: You should have completed or be completing a PhD;
knowledge of ciliate taxonomy, German, web-site development, and computer
imaging would be advantageous. The post is tenable on a full-time basis,
for one year in the first instance.
Research Assistant: You should ideally have experience in taxonomy,
microscopy, computer imaging, illustration, and web-site development. The
post is tenable on a half-time or full-time basis for one year.
