micropal Foraminifera, seagrass and nutrients

Hello

I'm working on foraminiferal epiphytes living on seagrass and
macroalgae on the Great Barrier Reef and I'm wondering if anyone
would
have any information on either of the following: 1. I have read that
increased nutrients can lead to an increase in epiphytisation of
seagrasses. At Green Island (my field area) increased levels of
nutrients have been suggested as the cause for the increased
distribution and biomass of the seagrass beds. Do increased
nutrient
levels have any effect on the foraminiferal epiphytes? 2. Can
seagrasses or macroalgae control the foraminiferal epiphytic
populations through chemical (such as phenolic acids) or other
means?

Thanks
Melissa
