via the internet I accessed Glenn Herricks former e-mail list to mail
this letter.
Richard Allen and I are jointly organizing a Paramecium meeting at the
university of Hawaii in Honolulu, March 25-28, 2001. We are supported
by Yutaka Naitoh and Ching Kung.
I would like to draw your attention to this meeting (web-site:
www.pbrc.hawaii.edu/membio/paramecium).
The intention is to have a meeting devoted mainly to the biology
of Paramecium, to listen to talks of various groups on where we stand
and discuss where we want to go. We would like to welcome people
working on similar systems and who would like to discuss with us
strategies how to develop the Paramecium model system.
In case you are interested, please consult the (as yet unfinished)
web-site. We will add a preliminary programme as soon as we can.
The general policy is not to invite (and pay) anyone as a speaker.
Everybody will have to pay the modest registration fee and your own
travel expenses.
In case you want to participate and make a scientific contribution,
please reply to the e-mail note by sending me a proposed title
indicating whether an oral or poster presentation is preferred.
