GRADUATE ASSISTANTSHIP(S) AVAILABLE AT UNC-
WILMINGTON
One (possibly two) graduate assistantships, leading to the MS
degree,
are available at the University of North Carolina - Wilmington to
study the molecular biology, evolution and systematics of
freshwater
or marine photosynthetic eucaryotes. Students must meet
requirements
for entrance into UNCW's Master of Science graduate program in
the
areas of Marine Biology or Biology. A research assistant stipend
will
be available during the first year of study. The second year of study
the successful candidate will be supported by a teaching assistantship
(Teaching for one semester is a mandatory requirement.) The most
competitive candidates will have some prior experience in molecular
biology, e.g., DNA extraction, DNA sequencing, Southern blotting etc.
