Happy New Year. Morgan
Call for ideas, case studies, etc. for microbial
textbook
I have a contract to write and hand-illustrate an
introductory microbial biology textbook.
Since I am currently cut off from the literature (I am
teaching at the College of the
Marshall Islands, on Majuro atoll), and want to keep
up to date, I would appreciate your kind assistance in
notifying me of unusually interesting or striking
reports/images involving the natural history (sex,
feeding behavior, etc.), ecology, morphology,
pathology, etc. of any and all protist and microalgae.
I have enough material on dinos, but all the other
flagellates, etc. could use material. (Yes, I am
including diatoms with protists!) Heads up on recent
papers or a summary of your own research results would
be most welcome, especially involving striking SEM or
TEM images, which I may render (with attribution) as
stippled ink illustrations. Thanks! By the way, the
oceanic phytoplankton (and actinopod protists) out
here in the west Pacific are stunning!
