ANNOUNCING TWO ALGAL COURSES FOR 2002

Kindrogan is situated in a secluded glen in the Perthshire 
highlands. 
The main house is a Victorian country home with good food and
congenial company. The surrounding area has a beautiful landscape
which is steeped in history and home to abundant wildlife.  A variety
of aquatic habitats with high biodiversity makes Kindrogan the ideal
place to study freshwater algae.

Freshwater Algae

20-27 July 2002, Kindrogan Field Centre, Scotland.

This course covers the taxonomy and ecology of freshwater algae and
involves both field and laboratory work.  The course is designed for
undergraduate, post-graduates, as well as those in professional posts.
  This is the seventh year the course has been taught.  

The cost for tuition, room and board is GBP 385 (equivalent to USD 557
or EUR 624).  Tutors:  Dr Eileen J. Cox and Prof. L. Elliot Shubert

Practical Algal Ecology

28 July to 3 August, 2002, Kindrogan Field Centre, Scotland.  

This course is primarily concerned with practical fieldwork and
laboratory analysis, and participants are required to have experience
in algal identification or to have completed the Freshwater Algae
course.  This is the second year the course has been taught.  A team
approach is used and a minimum of eight persons must register for the
course to be offered.

The cost for tuition, room and board is GBP 385 (equivalent to USD 557
or EUR 624).

Students may be eligible for stipends if they are members of:
