Hello Dr. Goodkov

Tonight while surfing I happened across your March 1999 message remarking
that you studied protozoan behavior as an undergraduate and graduate. For my
Master's degree in psychology I conducted experiments to determine whether
paramecium aurelia's behavior could be conditioned to time intervals using a
classical conditioning paradigm, with a weak electric current as the UCS. 3/5
experiments were significant---after training, the beasties clustered around the
area of the + pole at intervals approximating those framing introduction of the
UCS.

It is, as you say, a fascinating field. Late nights all alone with a test
tube...I will follow the references you gave, thank you.

Joseph Gretsch
