"A gathering will take place at the ASTMH meeting in Orlando, Florida
to honor the memory and outstanding scientific achievements of the late
Dr. Mette Strand. This informal get-together will occur on Monday,
December 8, 1997 from 12:30 to 1:30 PM in Yucatan Room #1 and will be
announced in the supplement to the program book.Interested colleagues,
students and friends are invited to attend and contribute their
reminiscences of Mette and discuss her contributions to their
careers and personal lives. In order to structure the time available
those wishing to speak, even if it is very briefly, are asked to
contact Dr. Alan Sher by E-mail at Alan_Sher at NIH.GOV. We feel that
Mette would have preferred this type of gesture rather than a formal
eulogy."
