Postdoctoral Position in the Schistosomiasis Research Group
Molecular Biologist/Immunologist
Applications are invited for a 3-year post-doctoral position funded by the
European Commissionís INCO-DEV Programme, involving collaboration with
Prof. E Beck's laboratory in Giessen, Germany.
The aim is to use molecular biological techniques which will permit the
cloning and expression of T cell antigens that are relevant to the
protective immunity elicited in rodent hosts by the radiation-attenuated
schistosome vaccine. The approach uses a T cell selection system for
screening purposes to identify novel vaccine candidates.
The successful applicant will have expertise in molecular biology which
they wish to apply in an immunological context, or will be a cellular
immunologist who wishes to enhance their molecular biology skills.
Starting alary is on the RA 1A scale, from £16287 to £21597 p.a., according
to experience.
