well, you are able to place some other (fix sized) windows on your
desktop (e.g. an editor, xterm or some other application, which will
permanently be used throughout the whole 'gap4 session') without the
need of searching for your xterm behind the (sometimes) huge contig
editor ;-)

Not very often, so it's good idea putting those in the settings menu
