Hallo.
I think that releasing Staden Package as a open source is great idea. I am using it for two years and found it very good and mature. But any software is possible to improve. The success story is for example OpenOffice or linux kernel. When original authors of the Staden Package will be maintainers of the source code I am not affraid it become mess.
Unfortunatelly I do not know programming, but I hope I am able to be tester.
