We have just initiated a new molecular marker resource for the
Xenopus community, and where information is available on
cross-reactivity with urodeles it is being noted. The pages contain
small color images, which when clicked on download large high
resolution images. Urodele and Xenopus stage series, methods, lists
of reagents, suppliers and services, a "White pages" of e-mail
addresses, and various useful anatomical figures are included. The
resource is quite modest in scale at the moment with just a few
pronephric and heart markers (muscle and CNS soon), but we hope it
will become more comprehensive as other researchers contribute
material.
To contact the resource open http://vize222.zo.utexas.edu
We are not planning to advertise the page to searching services to
cut down the number of "cruisers" visiting the site and slowing
download times, which are at the moment very fast. Please feel free
to circulate the address to researchers who you feel may find the
resource useful.
