Subject: Re: Undergraduate student quote
Dear George,
Your quote came at an interesting time for I've just finished reading the
final paper of an undergraduate who worked in my lab this semester (on
TGF-B in axolotls) and she had a few such interpretations of the literature
in her terrible opus. I'm beginning to wonder about the quality of
undergrad. science majors. She did write something, however, that actually
stimulated me write to you. She made some declarative statement about the
"mediating role of immunity in urodele limb regeneration" and cited, as a
reference, the chapter by Muneoka and Gardiner in the book you and
Armstrong edited for Oxford. I've not read that chpater and will get a
library copy next week to check it out but I wondered if you know of any
publications dealing with that topic (I can only remember an abstract I
read someplace about some immunosuppressive drug and regeneration but it
was nothing).
