We have recently began supplementing our axolotl's diet with a commercial
turtle food preparation. The stuff is so convenient and so
enthusiastically accepted by even the fussiest of the animals that I'm
tempted to switch over to it completely. I would appreciate any input on
what experiences both positive or negative people have had feeding
commercial turtle food pellets (or other preparations) to their axolotls.
Our vet figures the stuff is better balanced than the combination of
beef heart and other meats and live food we've been using to date and
the juniors seem to be growing very well. However she is not an amphibian
expert.
