I would like to find out from Urodeles readers, how many of you maintain
axolotls in your own laboratory. We are preparing the renewal proposal for
the NSF, and we need to include information on other colonies.
If you maintain axolotls (Ambystoma mexicanum) in your laboratory, would
you please answer the following questions:
Approximately how many adult animals do you have?
Do you breed them and raise any of the offspring?
Are your animals wildtype or do you also have mutants (including the
pigments, white, albino, melanoid, axanthic)?
Are your animals used for research other than in your own laboratory?
Thank you. I appreciate your taking the time to answer these questions.
Best regards,
Susan Duhon
