FW: eye desease in captive frogs

Dear Amphibiophiles,
	We maintain a small colony of Xenopus and Rana and we have have
recently been having some trouble with a kind of desease that begins with
a cloudy-looking eye and invariably results in death if left untreated. 
The trouble is, we are not sure what it is or how to treat it.  I suspect
a fungus, but that's not what it looks like on superficial examination. 
It has recently spread from the Rana colony to the Xenopus.  Has anyone
else seen anything like this, and if so, can you suggest an effective
