Hi Sandi:

I am not aware of any work on axolotl heart regeneration. Oberpriller
et al studied regenerative events in the newt heart a few years ago.
References follow. This is the only work that I can remember reading on
urodele heart regeneration.

muscle regeneration in the adult newt, Notophthalmus viridescens
AU Bader, D., Oberpriller, J.
YR 1979
SO J. Exp. Zool., 208: 177-194.

TI Response of the adult newt ventricle to injury

TI Mitosis in adult newt ventricle

TI The atrial proliferative response following partial ventricular
amputation in the heart of the adult newt. A light and electron
   microscopic autoradiographic study
AU McDonnell, T.J., Oberpriller, J.O.
