The best dsRNA extraction protocol - one which works for big plant virus
RNA genomes, as well as 9kb insect picornavirus genomes (Williamson et al.
1988, J gen Virol 69:787-795) - is that of Valverde et al. 1986,
Phytopathology 76:459-465. The refs. describe use of Whatman CF11
cellulose columns/batch procedures for isoln of dsRNA replicative
forms/intermediates from plants and insects.
