Hi:
Could someone point me to a review of lambdoid phages -
as opposed to a review of lambda?
In particular, I am curious how two lambdoid phages can
lysogenize a bacterium (are the repressors different
enough so that they can't work vs the other phage) and
what are the probable sites of integration (attB and
others, but what is the order of preference).
This is a question which arose in the reading of lambdoid
phages which infect E. coli and which carry Shiga-like toxin
(SLT) genes. It is this type of phage which is apparently
the cause for the pathogenicity of the O157 strains which
caused the diarrhea and possible deaths in the Northwest
last year.
