I am an adult Infectious Diseases doc / virologist.

Yes, it is worse in adults. The vaccine seems OK and safe but isn't licensed in 
the US. I am not sure if you can get it. The Pediatric ID section at NYU (Anne 
Gershon) has the latest data.
