Well let me add my $0.02 (according to Mike):
Why not kit out the cells with a highly expressed cassette containing
some garbage sequence flanked by some totally irresistable sites for the
incoming RT. The cell become loaded with RNA that has no function other
than to lure the RT away from its native sequence. As a result RT copies
the proverbial rubbish and less of the genome. It ought to give the host
a fair chance to get on top of the viral infection ?
Cheers,
Robert
