Baculoviruses do enter human cells and uncode but will not
persist and have never been demonstrated to replicate,
integrate, or express viral proteins. They are ubiquitous
in the environment, have been used for centuries for
biological pest control, and contaminate much of the food
we eat. Most adults have antibodies that strongly
crossreact with baculovirus structural proteins, presumably
from repeated exposure. There are many publications and
EPA and USDA monographs, some that date back 20 - 30 years
dealing with the subject of the safety of baculovirus.
