I heartily endore Chirs Dunn's suggestions for high school preparation.
Most colleges require biological sciences majors to take some level of
calculus, a year of organic with lab and a year of physics with lab. I
would imagine that very few colleges have a "major" in virology. If you
want to do virology at the post-graduate level, undergrad courses in
virology, immunology, microbiology, cell biology and ESPECIALLY molecular
biology, preferably with a lab, should be in your program. If you want to
attend a hot-shot grad program, take at least a semester of physical
