I usually am a "lurker" here, but I have to respond to this one. I'm pretty
sure you would consider me an "eco-feminist PC lefty", Steve, but I also
happen to have a PhD in chemical engineering. I assure you I can subtract 53
from 72, as well as solve a partial differential equation using Laplace
transforms. Usually I find your points of view to be relatively reasonable,
however, sweeping generalizations like the above do not further a
discussion, they only lead to sidetracks (like this one :) ).
