In fact, a film based on the Ebola outbreak at Reston (without
giving too much away if you haven't finished reading yet) from 'The
Hot Zone' was going to be made as well, starring Robert Redford and
Jodie Foster if I remember correctly, but both walked out because of
script problems. The would-be producers from 20th Century Fox then
had a big argument about how the makers of 'Outbreak' copied their
idea. It's probably just as well it wasn't made since I doubt it'd
have been any good and neither (I'm sorry to say) is the book, save
its information value.
