CMV promoter & human macrophages

Does anyone reading this know if the CMV promoter commonly used in 
commercially-available plasmids is transcribed in human macrophages?  
Someone mentioned to me that CMV doesn't replicate in huamn macs, and 
therefore such a promoter would not be expressed.
