This appeared on the PBS television show Nova. The people from CDC were
against it due to the obvious risks of transmission of other diseases and
uncertainty if it would work, but the local doctors went ahead with the
transfusion. Some patients with Ebola did self-cure, so it is possible the
nurse would have done the same; it is even possible that this is what did
occur.
It's an interesting show; I didn't read the book mentioned, so I can't
compare.
