Positions Available for Graduate Student and Post-doctoral Fellow
Project Title: Molecular genetic analysis of E1A function in
Saccharomyces cerevisiae
My laboratory is using molecular genetic techniques in the
simple eukaryote Saccharomyces cerevisiae to identify
mechanisms by which the adenovirus E1A oncogene reprograms
cell growth and gene expression.
Eligibility Requirements:
Graduate Student: B.Sc. and admission to an appropriate graduate
program at the University of Western Ontario. This position would
be of interest to students who have a B.Sc. in microbiology,
biochemistry or other biological science.
Postdoctoral-fellow: Highly motivated, recent Ph.D. with a strong
publication record and a background in molecular biology.
Experience with Saccharomyces cerevisiae would be an advantage.
Salary and Conditions:
Graduate student: The stipend will be $17,000 (CAN)/year.
Post-doctoral fellow: Salary will be in accordance with MRC
guidelines. In addition, a relocation benefit for qualified
Post-doctoral fellows of up to $1,000 (CAN) is available.
