I am a science honours student studying at the University of Tasmania.
My project involves developing a rapid PCR-based detection protocol for
human cytomegalovirus. I am in desperate need of a fairly conventional
(easy and quick!) viral plaque forming assay for the enumeration of
infectious HCMV in cell culture suspensions. You know? The old, basic
viral plaque forming assay (in some detail). I have lloked in a variety
of old (very old) text books but any mention of such an assay is too
brief for my needs. Also, we are unable to get hold of many journals.
Any help you may be able to give me would be of great benefit.
