rabies prevalence and transmission questions

Let's see if this can stimulate some discussion:

Firstly what is the likelyhood of transmission of rabies through for
example a cat scatch as opposed to a bite.

Secondly to what extent has rabies been eradicated from Western Europe.
I would be particularly interested in any figures concerning the Benelux
countries.

Although these questions arise from a scratch received from an abandoned
or feral kitten (~6-8 weeks old) on a recent trip to Maastricht, I am
aware that the net is no place for medical advice and or diagnostics and
am not seeking either. I ask out of interest aroused from the incident.
