The pH & polybrene suggestions are quite specific to certain viruses, not
general methods. For most viruses, the most practical methods is
concentration of a virus containing supernatent. You MIGHT be able to get
way with using a membrane concentrator such as one of the Amicon devices,
but since this concentrates a lot of crud as well as virions, it is usually
necessary to use centrifugation (either banding or pelleting the virus).
The precise protocol to use depends on the virus you are working with.
