Dear Colleagues!
I was wondering whether it is possible to separate the enhancer from the
(core) promoter regions in a retroviral LTR. As the textbooks tell us
that enhancers are principally able to stimulate transcription
initiation over longer distances, it should be possible to define a
border between the enhancer and the promoter of a retrovirus - or
am I mistaking completely?
