What about phytoplasmas? They cannot be cultured outside of the host and they
cannot reproduce outside of the host. Several other groups of bacteria as well
as some fungi cannot grow outside of the normal host. Are these not living?

A virus can mutate and evolve, a good indication of life.

Just my .02 worth.
