reports to the University President
Qualifications: Health professional degree or relevant PhD. A proven track
record preferably in a n academic health center. Knowledge of and commitment to
a well-balanced enterprise of teaching, research, and service.
Key functions of the position: Develop a vision for the Health Sciences Center
consistent with the mission established by the Board of Regents and the core
values recognized at the University. Develop, implement, and communicate the
goals, objectives, and policies of the enterprise. Recruit high-quality
leadership for the schools and colleges and hospital; set standards of
performance and review performance against those standards. Develop a short-
and long term-term financial plan, establish financial policies, acquire
resources to fund the operating units to accomplish the mission. Assume
responsibility for the performance of Health Sciences deans, directors, Health
System President, and executive staff to assure outcomes consistent with the
University's mission and goals. Provide timely and accurate information to the
University President on major issues with the Health Sciences.
