Seems like two subjects...cheating and bad english...and it is
important for each teacher to set a reasonable standard regardless of
their colleague's attitude...furthermore the students that learn and can
present their work well will get ahead and this is what should
be emphaseized....
Cheating is very difficult. Usually it is a big hassle to take
this through propoer channels...but take heart...the students
that cheat will take it on tests or in the career...certainly
you should make this clear to them. Also make it very clear
what constitutes cheating in each class, especially for lab and
projects. Sometimes I also make the students all sign a paper
describing what each has contributed to the project. The problem
in that in real life collaborattions are important and students need
to learn how to use and benefit from them too..i. e. to take
advantage of each members strengths
bad english..set english standards...they can always use a spell
cheaker or grammer checker and in some cases i refuse to read
a paper unless the students has done this...I find Grammatik and
Correct Grammer better than most and the program with Word of
no benefit....
