Mary Ann,
I would suggest also looking at differences in Northern and Southern
attitudes, particularly on the East coast. Stereotypically the "South" is
more conservative in many respects and I would think that career/life
choices would rank high on the list. Women raised in the "Old South" may
well have different attitudes than women raised in more Northern states.
I would think also that women who are originally from Northern states may
experience a real or percieved "bias" when chosing a career in a Southern
state. Just a suggestion...
Possible Universities to consider might be UNC-Chapel Hill or Duke as
Southern representatives. I would discount Florida as it seems overrun by
Yankees;)
