I like your question. I think that is the view of the old world. Today,
employers do not offer job security and I don't understand why they still
expect employees to stay ridiculous type of hours. The generation X way to
work is proven to be more productive anyway. I didn't see that show but the
trend is not so much working long hours as it is getting the work done. My
mother is a baby boomer and I am a generation X and we constantly have
disagreements on this subject. Why should I stay at work pretending to work
hard but actually drawing out what I can do in a few hours into 8 hours?
That is one of the reasons telecommuting and job sharing are so successful.
The employees are really working.
