I am also very inteested in this issue- rBGH affects on the Dairy industry are
still hotly debated, and the effects of BT toxin on oher organisms was a wake up
call to a lot of Americans who didn't realize the extent of GM in Agriculture.
Other issues about which I am interested in hearing opinions are;
1) the requirements of food supplements and antibiotic supplements in feed for
animals
2) whether there are different restrictions on the use of pesticides for feed
crops for animals or feed crops for humans
3) the decreasing genetic diversity in Agriculture products and its
relationship(s) to increased chemical use
I am currently teaching a course in Epidemics to first year college students,
and although these issues are not directly related to the course, all of them
have come up in discussion because the students are very cognizant that
environment and health are entwined, and the spread of disease has in large part
been affected by major changes in agricultural practices in history......
