Mentornet needs Mentors

This may have been posted before, but MentorNet, a program that links
female science students with email mentors, needs volunteers. The
students are mostly college students, majoring in science, who want
advice and information about careers in science. The mentors originally
came from industry, but I think it is open to anyone who works in
science. All of the contact is by email, I was linked with a student
last year who lives in Chicago, and I live in New York. I found it to
be really interesting, to answer her questions and talk to her about
science (and wish that I had had a mentor when I was in college). I
think she got a lot of useful information, too. She was a senior in
college, and spent the year applying to grad schools and writing her
honors thesis, so she had lots of questions. We sent each other emails
once or twice a week, so it wasn't terribly time consuming.

Right now, they have many more students signed up than they have
mentors, so if anyone is interested, I hope you'll go to their web site
and take a look. The URL is http://www.mentornet.net/.
