I think people need to be aware of this-as many of you know, this is what my
husband ended up with when he consciously chose a "small" institution. That
transition has meant the school is on its third president since he was
hired, and as many deans-every dean and president has a different "plan" for
what tenure will require, but suffice to say, no one hired since 1992, three
presidents ago, in my husband's department has received tenure. Small
schools can eat people alive just as easily.
