Director of Microscopy/ Adjunct Assistant Professor of Biology
The Department of Biology at Wake Forest University seeks a Director
for its microscopy facility. The facility contains research grade light
microscopes equipped with fluorescence, DIC and phase optics, and an
SEM. Duties include training and advising faculty, graduate, and
undergraduate students on the use of microscopes, digital cameras, and
image processing software. Duties also include maintenance and
upgrading of equipment, and ordering of supplies for facility. The
Director will act as a liaison between the Biology Department and the
Wake Forest Medical School confocal and TEM facility. The Director will
be encouraged to collaborate with faculty on research projects, and
teach an undergraduate/graduate level course on microscopy. Laboratory
space will also be available for maintaining an independent research
program. Expertise in light microscopy, particularly fluorescence
microscopy, and digital imaging is required. Submit curriculum vitae
