Graduate Research Assistantship available for study of HABs at Texas A&M University
A graduate research assistantship is available to participate in an ECOHAB study focusing
on the toxic dinoflagellate Karenia brevis in the Gulf of Mexico. The project involves
development of a suite of new, hypervariable genetic markers that can be utilized in
population- and species-level studies of harmful algal blooms. The position includes a
12-mo. stipend and tuition waiver. Start date: by Jan 2003. Students with experience in
molecular techniques and/or phytoplankton isolation and culture are invited to apply.
