Postdoctoral Position in Systematic Biology at Munich University: A
postdoctoral position is available to study phylogenetic
relationships in Cucurbitaceae or Ruscaceae (sensu APG). This position will
focus on developing comprehensive phylogenies, incorporating data
from multiple genes, morphology, and floral developmental studies.
Expected duration of the position is two to three years. Applicants must
have a Ph.D. in evolutionary biology or systematics and must be willing to
become involved in some teaching. Desired qualifications would
include experience in PCR-based molecular genetic methods,
phylogenetic methodology, and phylogeography. Exceptional candidates
with expertise in statistics and computer programming and
evolutionary biologists experienced in data analysis issues
are encouraged to apply. The Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich
has strength in evolutionary biology and morphological systematics and a
diverse faculty that includes several professors from the US as well as
American-trained postdocs. There is no German language requirement.
Salary is between 40,000 and 55,000 Euros. Review of applications is
