Molecular Biology Emphasis area of our curriculum. The candidate
will be expected to develop an independent and ongoing research
program, and to apply for extramural support. Opportunities are
available to supervise undergraduate research as well as
Master's-level graduate students.

Teaching Responsibilities may include introductory Biology courses
for undergraduate majors and for non-majors, and upper division
courses in the field(s) of specialty. (Descriptions of the
undergraduate Biology curriculum and current course offerings can be
found at http://www.usfca.edu/acadserv/catalog/.)

Qualifications: Applicants should have university teaching
experience, evidence of scholarship, an earned doctorate in a
biological field by Spring 2005, experience and willingness to work
in a culturally diverse environment, and commitment to support the
mission of the University. (The University Mission Statement can be
found at http://www.usfca.edu/mission/index.html.)

positions. The University of San Francisco is an Equal Opportunity
and Affirmative Action Employer, and provides reasonable
accommodations to individuals with disabilities upon request.

Applicants should submit a letter of application, curriculum vitae,
graduate transcripts, brief description of research plans, statement
of teaching philosophy, evidence of teaching ability (including
available student evaluations), and three letters of recommendation
to: Search Committee, Department of Biology, University of San
Francisco, 2130 Fulton Street, San Francisco, CA 94117-1080.

Applications must be received by January 15, 2005 to ensure full consideration.

in 1855, the University of San Francisco presently serves 8,000
students in the arts and sciences, business, education, nursing, law
and professional studies. The University is a private, Catholic and
Jesuit institution and particularly welcomes candidates who will
contribute positively to such an environment.
