I did a Linux port 3 years ago - it's quite easy (send email if interested).
The resulting executable still runs today under kernel 1.2.x , I think.
Main drawback is that you normally don't put 64MB or so of RAM
into a PC, just to run X-PLOR, and you really need so much if you 
are going to calculate electron density maps.
